Political Cartoons Remain Political

Now SOME Jewish people are pissed because they feel that the above political cartoon by Pat Oliphant is Anti-Semitic. They say it evokes the same style of the 1930s Hitler Propaganda against Jews, and I can see that a little, but there’s nothing outrightly against the Jew himself in this cartoon. There are no horns, no stereotypically huge noses, in fact, the head is missing completely. This cartoon is not about Jewish people individually but the acts of a sovereign nation ‘built’ on Judaism terrorizing and killing another nation of people.

From Fox News: The Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish rights group with more than 400,000 members in the United States, said the cartoon is meant to denigrate and demonize Israel.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure Israel demonized themselves when they killed 900 civilians in their “Gaza Offensive”.   Take it easy, Wiesenthal Center, it’s just a cartoon, it’s not a white phosphorous shell burning your skin off.
