Why Does Katt Williams Have His Own Section At Blockbuster?
I don’t know the last time you’ve physically been in a Blockbuster Video, but if it’s been within the last year you might have noticed the Katt Williams corner. I don’t know why it’s there but apparently in the past 6 months Mr. Williams has been more prolific than Tyler Perry’s “Madea Does Just About Every Damn Thing Twice As Much As Ernest Did It.”
You can rent Katt Williams’ Pimp Chronicles Vol. 1, or It’s Pimpin Pimpin, Or Any movie with Katt Williams in it. Or Katt Williams bringing up three younger lesser known comics to let them cash in on the Pimpin Pimpin Pimpin Pimpin brand. Or you can see movies that Katt Williams recommends, a la Quentin Tarantino it now seems that just adding Katt Williams name to a Direct-To-Video-Low-Budget-Ghetto-Pimp-Pimp movie is enough to put it on the shelves at Blockbuster.
I know that in 2008 he was the second best selling stand up comedy ticket but let’s be realistic here, he doesn’t need his own wall of shite. If he continues at this speed he’ll have his own section by July. Action, Comedy, Drama, Katt Williams, Horror, Sci-fi.
Also it seems like Blockbuster has changed the terms of its “netflix-y” plan again to get rid of return dates but only allow you to have three movies out at a time, (Isn’t that the Netflix deal? The only difference is you can satisfy your “immediate” video needs by going into the store.)
F that.
CTFUL at this post.
