What You Mean The Apartment’s Not Ready?

  Say What?

Apparently the previous tenants at my new apartment decided to absolutely trash the place before moving out at 1:30am on the day we were to move in.  Furniture was hiding the rough spots in the paintjob that we loved upon viewing the place.  The faux hardwood floors end 6-12 inches from the walls.  They ripped out the smoke detectors, left used razors in the bathroom as well as food in the freezer and refrigerator, clothes in an awfully banged up dresser, an autographed picture of the Dog Whisperer, and a three foot bong.

The landlord is currently repainting the place, putting new rugs in all three rooms, and cleaning their filth.  We can’t move until Wednesday.  Jess’s stepfather is quoted as saying, “If I can’t send the dog to live here, I can’t let my daughter move in here either.”

To which I replied in my head, “Well your daughter won’t be running around on all fours licking the baseboard.  Probably.
