Cinco De Mayo
Great! It’s pretend to give a crap about a Mexican day. How many of you will be drinking Happy Hour specials on Corona and eating Burritos at Taco Bell?
Personally, I can’t stand the fact that both St. Patrick’s Day and Cinco De Mayo have been during the week this year.
We need to do something about this. The other two big drinking Holidays (Thanksgiving Eve and New Year’s Eve) come right before mandatory days off. So we need to find some sort of peaceful solution. Personally I think St. Patrick’s Day should be the second or third saturday in March. Period, end of discussion.
Cinco De Mayo is a little trickier since its name literally means the 5th of May. Then again, who gives a damn about a little Spanish Semantics? Let’s just make Cinco De Mayo the first Saturday of May and everyone will be happy. You get your phony Mexican holiday on the first weekend of May and Mother’s day on the Second, then a week off, and then Memorial Day. That sounds like a plan to me.
Who’s with me?
Con quien?
